[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:UACPLogo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:UACPLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 01:08, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] A Virginia Barn star
I meant to place this here a while ago, when I saw the amount of work you put into the articles surrounding Southwest Virginia, like Grundy, and the law school there. I was impressed and wanted to offer you form of reward. So congrats, a true Virginia barn star.

[edit] DC Meetup notice
Greetings. There is going to be a Washington DC Wikipedia meetup on next Saturday, July 21st at 5pm in DC. Since you are listed in Category:Wikipedians_in_Virginia, I thought I'd invite you to come. I'm sorry about the short notice for the meeting. Hopefully we'll do somewhat better in that regard next time. If you can't come but want to make sure that you are informed of future meetings be sure to list yourself under "but let me know about future events", and if you don't want to get any future direct notices \(like this one\), you can list yourself under "I'm not interested in attending any others either" on the DC meetup page.--Gmaxwell 22:09, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Invitation
I've seen your work around Virginia related articles, and I also see you received the VA barnstar. So, I thought I would drop by to invite you to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Virginia. There's no obligation - just keep doing what you're doing and perhaps join some discussions/collaborations. Plus, if you join now, you are eligible to win a free toaster! No pressure if you're not a WikiProject kind of guy.--Kubigula (talk) 04:03, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image source problem with Image:BuchananCountyVASeal.gif
This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:BuchananCountyVASeal.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:36, 15 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:GraftonHighlogo.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:GraftonHighlogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:06, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Great job
Great job getting Norfolk up to GA quality. You really made it into a nice article that deserved to pass GAR.--Kubigula (talk) 02:59, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Lafayette Square
Thanks for the detailed Lafayette Square, Buffalo GA review. I apologize that the breadth requirement has to be filled by historical significance and not current significance. However, there is not much to the current square based on the shift of the city's focal point. I have replied to your concerns about the article and am ready for your reconsideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 22:40, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- I added a city template. I agree that it should have a infobox template. However, I do not believe that an appropriate template exists. I went through every article in Category:Town squares and the only articles with infoboxes are Pioneer Square, Seattle, Washington, which has a National Register of Historic Places infobox, Grand Place, which has a World Heritage Site infobox and Capitoline Hill which has a Seven hills of Rome infobox. When an infobox comes into existence, I will add it, but I don't think there is one for unofficial landmark town squares yet.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 03:52, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I am going to put in a query at WP:INFOBOX.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 01:33, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Do you think any templates at Category:Geobox or Template:Infobox historic area would be appropriate?--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 03:25, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Do you know why Template:Infobox historic area says it is part of the Pennsylvania Project? Anyone can use it I assume.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 05:28, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- I used {{infobox park}}. I have a query in at the help desk for help italicizing the caption. Other than that I am done. It took a while to get the captions moved so that even on small resolutions squeezing won't be much of an issue. Thanks for your guidance.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 23:14, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re:GAC
Greetings, thanks for the advice on how to improve Jifna. However, would it be necessary to include all of those sections into the article of a village of about 1,400 people? I was basing the article on the GA of Ir Ovot instead of Bethlehem. (BTW, I was the main contributor to the article and nominated it a while back, still editing it extensively). Nonetheless, I will try to find some sources on Jifna's economy and government, but I'm afraid they might not be enough (stubby sections) due to the extreme lack of online sources for it. Jifna is probably just well-known for its history, apricots and religion. But, I must know, should I compare it to Bethlehem or Ir Ovot. Cheers! --Al Ameer son (talk) 19:45, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think I've made most of the necessary changes, I am renominating Jifna. I hope to make a map of Jifna soon. --Al Ameer son (talk) 04:15, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
- I have made more additions and I added the map and another image. --Al Ameer son (talk) 15:25, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Atlanta, Georgia
The article unfortunately never should have been passed in its current state, and has been listed at GA Reassessment for further review. I have listed the issues at GA reassessment review. Dr. Cash (talk) 22:37, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Brutonhslogo.jpg}
Thank you for uploading Image:Brutonhslogo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
