[edit] Speedy deletion of Dancing with the Stars (US season 6)

A tag has been placed on Dancing with the Stars (US season 6) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. [edit] Delete article

The article as it stands is nothing more than a rumor. ABC has not issued a time line of the show. There are no references. As it stands now it is about something in the future that does not exist. This could lead to the possibility of nothing more then a rumor page as it stands now.--Jeanenawhitney (talk) 19:04, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

There are also no references to the fact that any of this is true. You can not create something that has not yet happened. Also the naming was wrong. If and when the show does happen it should be named as the other previous seasons. --Jeanenawhitney (talk) 19:42, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Sabrina ryan q.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Sabrina ryan q.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NrDg 18:57, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy deletion of Image:0000034126 20061021055515.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:0000034126 20061021055515.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

[edit] January 2008

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia. We always appreciate when users upload new images, however, it appears that one or more of the images you have recently uploaded, specifically :Image:Sev 03tvaddict 11-03-2006 898THRK.jpg, may fail our non-free image policy. Most often, this involves editors uploading a copyrighted image of a living person. For other possible reason, please read up on our Non-free image criteria. Please note that we take very seriously our criteria on non-free image uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. NrDg 19:05, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Be230b66-5709-4eb3-abcd-b1bd1fd78183 ms.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Be230b66-5709-4eb3-abcd-b1bd1fd78183 ms.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:05, 7 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Neil.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Neil.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NrDg 17:18, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] What do I have to do?

I have a question as to why pages keep getting edited to delete images I upload. What do I have to do to follow the rules and still be able to upload images to Wikipedia articles. I am asking because I am really new at contributing to Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chrisbacani (talkcontribs) 17:34, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Read the article on WP:FAIR first of all and try to understand the problem with using copyrighted images in wikipedia. Basically we are not supposed to use copyrighted images at all with very few and very limited fair-use exceptions. There is effectively a total prohibition on using copyrighted images in bio articles about living people as a totally free image of that person is either available now or could be taken in the future. What wiki wants is for people to actually take a picture of that person and donate it to wiki or find a picture from someone else who has provably donated his picture for unlimited use.
The logo picture can be fair use as logos are never available without copyright and, if used in the proper article for the right reasons, meet the requirements. Likewise a screen capture of the cast of a show used in an article about the show can also potentially be fair use as they are always copyrighted and if used as part of critical commentary meet the requirements. --NrDg 17:55, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Neil.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Neil.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 23:27, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Don't worry. I don't know how to save your images, as I don't know where they were supposed to be in the encyclopedia. But I have saved them to my own hardrive, and I will keep them in a folder under the name: User:Chrisbacani's images. Even if they're deleted from Wikipedia, they will still live on. Wilhelmina Will (talk) 00:12, 9 January 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add inappropriate images to Wikipedia, as you did to Neil Haskell; it is considered to be vandalism. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. NrDg 19:05, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
