[edit] Stanley Woods

Do you have verifiable sources for your Stanley Woods edits made today? If so please add them to the pages or ask me and I will tell you how to do it. Cheers ww2censor 18:57, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

I just changed the links form Husqvarna disambiguation page to Husqvarna Motorcycles, what sort of sources are needed for that? Chris Ssk 19:07, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
You are correct. I did not look at your edits closely enough. No need for sources as you did exactly what you said. ww2censor 20:50, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Motorcycling Wikiproject

I forgot to officially welcome you to the project previously, so welcome to the Motorcycling WikiProject. Hopefully you have a good time, start many new articles and can contribute lots to the existing ones as we need that. Cheers ww2censor 00:59, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] January 2008

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. STORMTRACKER 94 23:21, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

That was by mistake, my bad. Chris Ssk talk 09:36, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Motorcycle stubs

Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals, in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 23:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Motorcycle Racing!

Just been noticing some of you edits making redirections to a new title for a category and a template and updating the template and category; not sure how many others if any and maybe most of it was Roguegeek who actually did the titling as seems the case, but I think the retitling is contrary to the MOS. Maybe you should have a look at this and you will see that only the first word of a title should be in uppercase unless it is a proper noun. Using "Racing" for the word "racing" (when not the first word of a title) is wrong for articles and I presume this guideline applies to templates and categoies also. Beside which I don't see any point to it, as someone will have to fix it later. Remember the main article name is Motorcycle racing not Motorcycle Racing per the MOS. Maybe we need to discuss that with Roguegeek and figure out the proper titles before there is too much work to do to revert. Cheers (I reply where I post) ww2censor (talk) 22:10, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Thx for fixing my fixes to the 2008 MotoGP season; I thought I'd checked those, but with JiR I didn't think case would matter and searched under "jir".--Rubber Nipple Salesman (talk) 05:14, 7 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Motogp.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Motogp.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 04:46, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] A Motorcycle Wiki

Hey Chrias Ssk, Here's an opportunity to put your expertise on Suzukis or other bikes to work in the area of motorcycles. Cycle Chaos is a Wiki-styled web site that needs a lot of help from people who love bikes and can contribute more information and even more manufacturers. There's virtually no problems with administrators and it seems free to edit without any trouble. You seem to be someone who can offer some content, images, categories, that may be lacking. My user page is: Cycle Chaos, Noles1984 Thanks. Noles1984 (talk) 16:12, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Yamaha TD2

I'm confused in regards to your edits on the Yamaha TD2 page. You deleted a line from a book that I had reference to , and you changed the template , deleting "Racing History" all together. Why? I'm planning on doing a number of stubs and if having a "Racing History" section does not follow the guidelines of the motorcycle project , I'd like to know. Cheers Ytak171 (talk) 03:56, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Since 1962 ,Yamaha Motor Company . Japan , has produced production race motorcycles. Any licenced road racer could purchase this "over the counter" racer. In the early 1970's these production racers could compete with any factory lead team. Giant Killers, humblers of factory machines and riders , machines to be feared and loathed by the competition for their sheer effectiveness. In 1970 , Non-factory "privateer" teams dominated the 250cc World Championships.

This is just general information about Yamaha. It doesnt have to do anything directly with the Yamaha TD2 Chris Ssk talk 09:09, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Well , lets break it down. 1."Since 1962 ,Yamaha Motor Company . Japan , has produced production race motorcycles." ---The TD2 is a Production Race Motorcycle. 2." Any licenced road racer could purchase this "over the counter" racer" --- You had to be a licenced racer to purchase a TD2 3.In the early 1970's these production racers could compete with any factory lead team. ---The TD2 won the world Championship in 1970. The TD2 B followed the TD@

4.In 1970 , Non-factory "privateer" teams dominated the 250cc World Championships.

---In 1970, The TD2 came in 1st and second in the world Championship , and were both non-factory teams.

You are wrong sir. Your editing for the sake of editing. Deleting other people work based on your own opinion and not fact. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ytak171 (talkcontribs) 11:16, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

I appreciate the work you put in but your articles did need editing, I suggest you have a look at WP:MOS for some quite lines. also if you look at the bottom of the "edit this page" it says
  • If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed for profit by others, do not submit it.
Wikipedia articles are made to be edited. Chris Ssk talk 11:59, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

I welcome editing to my entries. ...But deleting my work because of your opinion , just doesnt seem right. But thats the way things are I guess. No hard feelings.Ytak171 (talk) 12:19, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

I added some information about Yamaha making production race motorcycles at Yamaha Motor Company#Racing heritage. I think its more appropriate there. please contribute more about it if you can. Chris Ssk talk 12:35, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Chris. Cheers Ytak171 (talk) 12:40, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Question....what is the Last Edit you made to the MV Agusta page? I'm somewhat new to Wikipedia and I clicked on the (TW) link. Had something to do with vandlism. Could you please explain in laymans terms. ThanksYtak171 (talk) 13:13, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

Twinkle is a JavaScriptthat helps with common Wikipedia maintenance tasks. basically it allows you to makes several tasks like revert a page easyer, the revert doesn't have to be because of vandlism. I reverted the MV Agusta page to remove a spam external link. Many take advantage of Wikipedia's popularity and add external links in articles to promote a website. That is not allowed as per WP:EL and WP:LINKSPAM. Chris Ssk talk 14:04, 30 March 2008 (UTC)

When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page.

‘’Safe behaviours’’

The intent of these guidelines is to provide a safe set of rules of thumb. Follow these behaviours, and you'll likely not get into trouble. (And adhering to these ideals may improve the prospects of aspiring administrators.)

  1. Be bold! in updating pages. Go ahead, it's a wiki!
Encourage others, including those who disagree with you, likewise to Be bold!
  2. Be civil to other users at all times.
  3. When in doubt, take it to the talk page. We have all the time in the world. Mutual respect is the guiding behavioural principle of Wikipedia and, although everyone knows that their writing may be edited mercilessly, it is easier to accept changes if the reasons for them are understood. If you discuss changes on the article's talk (or discussion) page before you make them, you should reach consensus faster and happier.
  4. Clear edit summaries and straightforward and transparent explanations are universally appreciated. Other editors need to understand your process, and it also helps you yourself to understand what you did after a long leave of absence from an article. Please state what you changed and why. If the explanation is too long, elucidate on the discussion page. It is a fundamental principle of Wikipedia that anyone may edit articles without registering, so there are a lot of changes to watch; edit summaries simplify this.
  5. Assume good faith; in other words, try to consider the person on the other end of the discussion to be a thinking, rational being who is trying to positively contribute to Wikipedia. Even if you're convinced that they're evil reptilian kitten-eaters from another planet, still pretend they're acting in good faith. Ninety percent of the time, you'll find that they actually are acting in good faith (and wouldn't you have looked stupid if you'd accused them of being evil).

When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page.

I ask that you remember the above guidelines for Wiki. Please remember , there are only 60 of us working on the Motorcycle project. We should encourage each others work. You have done some fine work yourself . Please try and remember there are others spending countless hours researching and working on theses projects.

Best wishes to you and keep up the good work!! Ytak171 (talk) 19:03, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] RE: Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Grand Prix motorcycle racingWikipedia talk:WikiProject Motorcycle racing

I have removed your above request from WP:RM as you are proposing a merge, not a move. In order to have the above merge executed, please consult WP:PM. Thanks. JPG-GR (talk) 01:25, 3 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Talladega Gran Prix Raceway

Hello, Chris. I have a favor to ask of you. Can you do a map of Talladega Gran Prix Raceway? The circuit map on the page is incorrect, and I don't know how to change it. Thanks. Fclass (talk) 15:40, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

The circuit map of Talladega Gran Prix Raceway looks great. I have one question: How do you get the circuit maps? Is it easy? Fclass (talk) 18:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

How do you take a screenshot and draw a map? Fclass (talk) 16:30, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Vote on BMW Motorrad

I had placed a vote for you saying you agreed on the move. Someone removed it. I would suggest you quickly go to Talk:BMW_(motorcycles)#Survey and place your vote to agree. Thanks! Roguegeek (talk) 19:46, 26 April 2008 (UTC)

I note that you accept other people speaking for you - is that a proper wikipaedia response? Oh and by the way, have you bothered to do any research as to when BMW first used the BMW (Motorrad) name. or is that too much hard work? M-72 (talk) 15:05, 17 May 2008 (UTC)
You might now like to contact the BMW Group and find out that they disagree with you that BMW is a subsiduary - if it's not too much hard work!M-72 (talk) 13:45, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
And you might want to Assume good faith. Roguegeek (talk) 15:08, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

FYI. Roguegeek (talk) 00:50, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Two More Circuits

Hello, Chris Ssk, it's Fclass, again. Could you do a map for Barber Motorsports Park and Thunderhill Raceway Park? BMP has two connecting roadways to make other configurations and TRP has about five connecting roadways to make other configurations. Thank you for your time. Fclass (talk) 15:02, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Endurance Championship

I think there should be some section to show which teams the winning riders for the championship were in before 2000.

There were some teams that were successful before the change, like phase one in 93 and 00(as well as 03) and they should have recognition on that site for being triple champions.

Also, can you make a template for endurance teams, phase one is currently using a grand prix one which isn't perfectly relevant. I don't know how to make the templates:( Shredder46 (talk) 18:47, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Do you have info for all teams or just phase one? Personaly I think team champions before 2001 is misleading. The 1993 champion only raced 2 races for Phase One, what was his team for the other 3-4 races? in 2000 Linden and Nowland were champions but not Mertens, Phase One's 3rd rider because he didn't race at Suzuka Chris Ssk talk 14:54, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] HRC

Let's try and avoid an edit war here. We've been working well together and the last thing I want to be is uncivilized. You're proposing a merge of two articles. That kind of thing needs discussion. Use the merge templates to suggest the change and let's discuss. There's protocol to follow in these situations. Roguegeek (talk) 21:04, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. Here the policy on merging article. Roguegeek (talk) 21:09, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
