[edit] My Future Contributions
I hope to add signifigantly to wikipedia's computer programming information, and much on video games as well. Visual Basic Programming in particular.
[edit] WikiProject: CVG
Recently an anoymous user signed your name as a participant with the WikiProject Computer and video games. It is possible that this user was you, but given that you haven't edited a page since July 2005, it's also likely that this is a hoax of some sort. Because of this, I have removed your name from the list. If this is in error, or in the future you plan to contribute more to Wikipedia and actually wish to sign up as a participant of this WikiProject, I encourage you to do so. Thank you. K1Bond007 19:33, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
- I would like to echo K1Bond007's remarks with regard to the Final Fantasy WikiProject. My apologies if this was made in error. Thank you. – Seancdaug 21:17, September 6, 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry, I did in fact forget to log in, I re-added myself to both of those projects, sorry for the misunderstanding.
[edit] Abuse of admin powers
I saw you agreed that no user subpages should be deleted because certain admins do not like the opinions expressed on them. User:Dmcdevit however redeleted User:ROGNNTUDJUU!/User against Iraq war of aggression and User:ROGNNTUDJUU!/GOP criminal. I will file a complaint at RFC if another user fails to convince him that he violates policy. De mortuis... 01:09, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] AWB
I added you to the AWB list, partly because the disambig work you were doing is something I kept meaning to get around to doing. thanks Martin 23:04, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. It is a pretty massive job, and I'm not sure EXACTLY what should be done on some of the particulars or if I should add other things to the page, so any input would be appreciated to make sure this won't need to be redone. Chris M. 02:22, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Test
This is me trying to comprehend Wikipedia's Qif Template which I want to use and change if MediaWiki 1.6 ever comes out for users outside of the english wikipedia. This is written in basically Visual Basic code, because it's easiest for me to understand. Please don't edit the code, although you may comment below it. Chris M. 19:45, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
{{{else{{{test|}}}|{{{test{{{test|}}}|{{{then|}}}}}}}}}
If {{{else{{{test}}}}}} = "" Then
- Print {{{else{{{test}}}}}}
Else
- If {{{test{{{test}}}}}} = "" Then
- A = {{{then}}}
- Else
- A = {{{test{{{test}}}}}}
- End If
End If
In {{{else{{{test}}}}}}, if "test" is empty, then it will evaluate to the value of the variable named "else". If "test" is not empty, then it will evaluate to the variable of "else" & whatever the value of "test" is, since that variable was not given, it's value is empty.
So if "test" is empty, then we get the value of "else", and that's it.
If "test" is not empty, then we get a variable name which corresponds to an empty value, then the outcome is the default text following.
if "test" is empty, then "{{{test{{{test}}}}}}" becomes empty, if "test" is not empty, then the value of "{{{test{{{test}}}}}}" is STILL empty because it evaluates a non-given variable which would have an empty value, so this automatically goes to the default text following.
if "then" is empty, then the whole thing outputs nothing, if "then" is not empty, then it outputs the value of "then", exactly as we want.
So...I'm going to wikipedia to ask why there is even the expression "" Couldn't it be simply ""? Chris M. 19:45, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] So, I'm curious...
Did you get the script working on sporewiki? Lupin|talk|popups 01:01, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
- I don't believe the owner of sporewiki has gotten to it yet. I'll definitly let you know because I'll probably need more help :). Chris M. 01:57, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

- Strangly I can edit now, I had a couple different messages, but none are coming up when I go to edit. If something does come up I'll email you or state it here, thanks. Chris M. 02:51, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] British English
Not sure how I stumbled onto your user page, but are you aware that you have one userbox that declares your support for American English, and another that indicates that your "favourite colour" is orange?
How quaint! (unsigned)
[edit] Oceania and Australasia
Thanks for your useful note - whether anyone takes anything up on this point - sometimes it can be frustratingly quiet! One of the big problems is usually geographically challenged newbies who have a favourite (note spelling I have english parentage and australian citizenship :) ) references (usually online and innacurate) who see that such and such a place is here- bit like the claim for Surabaya being on the Indan ocean (its on the Java Sea) - and the problem is that they will come into wikipedia and change articles to suit their favourite source - or poorly referenced online sources - and the average knowledge editor who either know or uses real sources gets hammered and harrassed. I think that Australia (Continent) conversation might show you where this all goes in the end. If its any help, I used to read maps and atlases as a child- while my children play WOW.. sigh SatuSuro 06:50, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- Turns out while I know of the Australia as a continent issue, I actually misread the Australasia article, and it did in fact say it was a part of Oceania. O well :). You should try to pull your kids from WOW and get them into something like Civilization IV or something. It's a video games that are sort of educational :). Also, in an attempt to make you feel better about your kids playing games, I've read from several sources that even the most apparently trivial of game content can have huge effects on our cognitive skills. [edit] Home front during World War I
Hi,
Why are you reverting this article to a vandalised version? Pyrotec 21:21, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- I made a mistake in my first reversion, but my second shouldn't have been a reversion to a vandalized version, unless I'm mistaken, in which case I apologize. Chris M. 03:53, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
