[edit] Re: (User talk:ais523) Thanks very much!
Editing an article about yourself is normally discouraged. If there's content in the article you know is wrong, and it doesn't have a source, you might be able to get away with removing it, but normally, it's best to make any comments you have about the article on its Talk ('discussion') page. See the conflict of interest guidelines for more information about when you can edit an article about yourself, and try to stay neutral. (As someone else created the article, this gets round many of the problems associated with a conflict of interest, so you should be fine.) Hope that helps! --ais523 10:37, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
Just wondering...
Hi there - just wondering if it's possible to request the removal the page about me from this site (Chris Chamberlin). I'm not quite sure who made it, but if it could be removed that would be wonderful, as it is having a (negative) real-life impact.
Your help here would be greatly appreciated :)

- You may request it by email by going to Wikipedia:Contact us/Article problem and proceed from there ("There's a problem in an article about you..."). Please carefully follow the instructions there. ›mysid (☎∆) 11:56, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
- I don't normally deal with this sort of situation; articles aren't deleted just because the subject requests for them to be deleted, but there are several situations in which they would be. If you think there's a problem in an article about you, it's probably best to go through official channels as mysid suggests, to remove any appearance of impropriety there might be; you may want to read the deletion policy. The situation on this specific article (Chris Chamberlin) itself is more complicated; there's a speedy-deletion tag on it at the moment; an uninvolved administrator will decide whether or not to delete the article based on the reason given in the tag (i.e. whether the relevant deletion rule applies; the literal wording of that rule would suggest not, but again, the situation is more complicated than the rule was initially designed to address, and in such circumstances administrators use discretion as to what the rule ought to say). Hope that helps! --ais523 14:06, 25 August 2007 (UTC)
