[edit] Anthropology project

I have communicated with The Ungovernable Force regarding the proposed anthropology project which you indicated an interest in, and have gotten the OK from him to move the project into wiki-space and make it active. He indicated that he is busy in school right now, but will be as active as he can be given that. The project page as it now exists is only a minimum page, and could use the input of interested parties such as yourself. Personally, I did noticably poorly in the one cultural anthropology class I took in college, so I'm bowing out of this one, but wish you and the other members of the project the best of luck with it. Thank you. Badbilltucker 21:49, 8 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Anthropology Collaboration of the month

Hello. I noticed that you signed up for WikiProject Anthropology and thought that you might be interested in participating in the Collaboration of the Month. This month's article is Marvin Harris. Thanks. Stilgar135 19:29, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ball State University

I am writing to politely disagree with the assertion that my edit to the Ball State University article was vandalism. My father attended Ball State University in the early 1960s; he reported that a common and widely-used nickname for the institution was "Fruit Jar Tech." Please advise. Thank you. 24.17.171.84 22:37, 9 September 2007 (UTC)

I don't disagree with your argument in its entirety, because I can't substantiate if it is true or not. Your comment was removed because it was an uncited comment that appeared to be vandalism due to the nature of the nickname. I just happened to see it before someone else did. In other words it was gonna be deleted at some point due to the fact that the name was uncited. Rewrite it with a proper citation (your father doesn't work). Remember this is an encyclopedia. Thanks for your reply. chris4682 7:57PM 9 Sept 07

As requested, I have provided a citation from Ball State's alumni magazine. I might also point out that as the Ball State University article currently contains information about "the hot dog man" and his most popular offerings on campus, proper citation of a campus nickname--even a potentially demeaning one--doesn't seem wholly out of place in the article. 24.17.171.84 04:06, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Great. As exampled by you (Hot Dog Man) there are numerous problems with the Ball State page (as with others) and your addition now does not fall into that category! As with most watchers of the Ball State page I can only do so much. Thanks. In addition, have you thought about creating a username for Wikipedia? chris4682 10-09-07

[edit] License tagging for Image:Duck Creek Aqueduct.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Duck Creek Aqueduct.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 03:06, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

All photos have been tagged. Thanks bot! 24 September 2007 chris4682

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Cotswolds 2004.JPG

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Cotswolds 2004.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 10:14, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Corrected. Thanks bot. chris 4682
