[edit] Grand Moff Tarkin

I reverted your move/rename of this article. As per Wikipedia:Naming conventions, the most common, well-known name should be the article title. Besides, the Star Wars web site still uses "Grand Moff Tarkin" [1]. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 09:13, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

OK, no problem. ;) Chris1219 09:15, 10 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Narnia aslan.jpg

Warning sign
This image may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Narnia aslan.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. CLW 16:58, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for informing me. I have edited the article, see if it's OK. Chris1219 11:30, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re: Disney films.

Hi, you're doing good work on a lot of the Disney articles. However, I don't think the original theatrical posters ahould be replaced with reissue posters, if the originals are already present. It's probably best to use originals for all of the infoboxes, and use reissue posters as added images. --FuriousFreddy 23:04, 26 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me. I just thought the re-release posters look prettier than the old ones, so I put them in the infobox. But now I think you're right; I'll now work on making all articles to have the original theatrical posters. Chris1219 03:05, 27 January 2006 (UTC)
I figured that's why you chose them. They're fine as additional images placed within the article, but using the originals as the infobox images helps put the articles into their proper historical context (in other words, helps readers unserstand immediately offhand that the older Disney movies are indeed old). --FuriousFreddy 22:51, 28 January 2006 (UTC)

Before "blanking" a template, you have to be sure that no pages still include it. In this case The Wild still does. -- Curps 07:18, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for telling me, I just missed that one out. Chris1219

Thanks for fixing the Pete's dragon thing, man. I'm a big Disney fan, and the animated features canon on wikipedia has been a really cool thing to have. Its people like you that have kept it accurate and up to date, so thanks.

Thank you, it's my pleasure to improve articles related to something I love, in this case Disney. :) Chris1219 04:28, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edit summaries & "minor"

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

Remember to mark your edits as minor only when they genuinely are (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). "The rule of thumb is that an edit of a page that is spelling corrections, formatting, and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'." --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 11:09, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WP:FPC/Lake Barrine

Hi Chris1219. Would you mind withdrawing your featured picture candidate, Image:Lakebarrinephoto.jpg? It will surely not be promoted, and we'd like to try to reduce the number of currently active nominations. If you choose to withdraw it, please move the nomination into the Nominations older than 14 days, the maximum voting period, decision time! section at the bottom and leave a note. Thanks! ~MDD4696 15:09, 8 April 2006 (UTC

[edit] Keep references section

Hi, I saw that you delete the references section of The_Lion_King_II:_Simba's_Pride.

According to the Wikipedia policies and guidelines, the reference section is required. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Embedded_HTML_links

I'm going to add the references section again with the required information. Keep up the good work though!

[edit] Toy story 3

Why did you put the Toy Story 3 picture back up? It is no longer a valid picture as the plot with Buzz Lightyear being recalled is no longer taking place. It is a different project than the image shows (having EVERYTHING scrapped and taken over by Pixar instead of Disney) making the picture completely irrelevent. Unless you have a valid reason for the picture in the movie infobox (beside aesthetic) it needs to be removed. Thanks! Dark jedi requiem 05:48, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

I put it back because that's the only available image related to the film currently. Hmm... yeah, I guess it's not too appropriate for the infobox. I think I'll put it somewhere in the article then (so to be more informative). :) Chris1219 08:54, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
I believe the place you put it makes the most sense encyclopedically (is this a real word?). Thanks. Dark jedi requiem 22:33, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Please use an edit summary

I have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! --Starionwolf 17:28, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I didn't know that it was that important, I'll take note of that. But I believe a lot more people are worse than me. :P Chris1219 07:52, 30 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Jimcummings.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jimcummings.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. [edit] SEK Studios and The Lion King

I can assure you that SEK Studios never worked on The Lion King. During the time that The Lion King was being made, Disney Feature hired their own inbetweeners and cleanup artists. All of the animation was done in the United States until Disney went all digital (That didn't happen while The Lion King was being made). Plus the source that claims that SEK Studios did work on The Lion King is Pro-North Korean and is the only Korean newspaper I know of that has reported this. I've searched through other news sources, imdb, and google, but have come up empty handed. All the results either point back to the Wikipedia article or to another Pro-North Korean newspaper. No reports from CNN, Chosun.com, or anything else. In short, the source claims the impossible and no official news source has reported anything about this. I think it's safe to say that SEK Studios, if it even exists, has never worked on The Lion King. So I request that the section that claims that SEK Studio worked on The Lion King be removed. Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Hsm2poster.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

[edit] Uncle Max (The Lion King)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Uncle Max (The Lion King), by 650l2520, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Uncle Max (The Lion King) fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

G4 - see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Uncle Max

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Uncle Max (The Lion King), please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Uncle Max (The Lion King) itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:14, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] the UP citations

Can you place the UP citations you added into WP format, please? Why we need to create a page for a film the instant that an unverified source in a blog talks about it is beyond me, but it's hard to stop a ball from rolling sometimes. That's a different discussion for a different day. The citations thing, that can be handled. Thanks. SpikeJones 13:09, 9 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Can you please describe why your cast order is more apprprioate than mine on Heart of Greed?Shaggy9872004 08:51, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Regarding my cast list, it may not be perfect, but it arranges the characters in a more appropriate order of screen time and importance to plot. In my opinion, the problem of yours was mainly putting Bosco Wong too far back. Chris Lai and Fala Chen's characters are obviously the least significant in the story, so they should come last. Ha Yu's character also has more screen time and significance in the show. Just my humble opinion.

I actually believe that Bosco's character isn't nearly as important as Chris Lai's. Chris Lai sets his mum up as being bad. He's the objective of Susanna's character's personality. As for Lee Sze Kei, Susanna Kwan and Ha Yu, they should be much further on top than Bosco. Bosco is only a minor character. Not as important as their characters.--Shaggy9872004 09:31, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
That was a better edit but I think it can still do with a few minor tweaks. Plus I don't think screen time has to do with whether the character is more important or not.Shaggy9872004 12:11, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free image (Image:Hsm2poster.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hsm2poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:52, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Rapunzellogo.JPG

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Rapunzellogo.JPG. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 16:26, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I recently restored the adaptation section on The Lion King page, which you deemed as unnecessary. Far as I can recall Adaptations are not against the rules, so did you remove it out of personal preference.? 71.120.233.114 02:13, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Just put up this matter on the talk page of The Lion King. Yes, I myself deemed this section as unnecessary, but I will willingly take others' opinions into consideration now. Chris1219 03:36, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Hunchbackposter.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Hunchbackposter.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:51, 7 August 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- SilentAria talk 17:51, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
