[edit] Copied material
I've removed a good portion of this article that read like a brochure. No offense to the people who've been working hard on it, but it wasn't reading very much like an encyclopedia article. At least it's more of a stub at the moment. Bastique▼parler voir 19:43, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
I've removed the list of clubs — it's not particularly verifiable, would be very hard to keep up to date (clubs start up and disband all the time), and like you said, it just doesn't seem appropriate in an encyclopedia article. --Cyde Weys 19:48, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Depth of Article
This article has to be expanded. Most of the alumni are not referenced. We need to amplify the scope of the article not only in detail, but also in the overall purview of the school.
[edit] List of famous alumni, clubs?
What happened to the list of important people that graduated from CCHS? This page had a lot of useful good information, But it seems to have been deleted. If having a list of Clubs is not like an encyclopedia article and reads like an ad, then why do other high school's encyclopedia articles have a list of clubs? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 205.188.116.196 (talk • contribs) 04:09, 18 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Raoul G. Cantero, III
- Raoul G. Cantero, III is notable because he is a justice of the Florida Supreme Court not because of who his grandparents or parents might be.. That information should be placed in his article (which it is) not here.. Only the name of the person, the year of his graduation and what his occupation is or what makes him notable.Callelinea 18:43, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- According to whom? I think it's totally relevant to mention that Cantero is an influential member of society. One side being his profession, the other being his status as the descendent of Cuba's oligarchic elite. 66.184.162.219
- Why do you think he is notable? Many people graduate from high school who are members from prominent families. It is what someone does with their life that makes them notable. Raul is notable because he is the first Cuban-American to sit on the Florida Supreme Court. Callelinea 16:23, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Abram Rodriguez
It may be an inconvenient truth that a gay porn star graduated from Columbus, but that gives no cause for his removal from the alumni page. 66.184.162.219
I have no problem with him being in your list of notable alumni of CCHS but as an actor. If you wish to place him there as a "porn Actor" then you need to have proof that he (the porn actor) has stated somewhere that he attended CCHS or if you have a picture of him from your yearbook from that year scan it and send it to me or to another editor with a copy of the porn actor to verify that both persons are the same. Otherwise the entry can only state that he is an actor. Articles that relate to living persons have different rules as to articles about dead persons. I hope this info is helpful.Callelinea 16:16, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
