The original novel was published in France in 1910. Someone keeps changing it to 1911. That date is INCORRECT unless you only count publication in English.

[edit] The 'fan' Christine

Is this section untrue, or is there some other reason that anonymous users keep deleting it?

Christine Daaé is also a Phantom of the Opera fan who legally changed her name to that of the character, and who ran the Phantom Appreciation Society for four years.

  • It's real. The pattern of deletions suggests that someone with a "rival" Christine Daae website keeps removing the reference. Masked Angel 23:37, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

She is indeed real, but I have no idea why people are deleting it. - Vega pleiades

She is real, she ran the international Phantom fan club in the days before the internet and ran one of the first Phantom websites. I think some people just don't like "big name fans" being mentioned on Wikipedia?

There seems little point in adding information about a fan, when the article is about the charater. ElphaPearl (talk) 18:06, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
  • I think it's relevant and should be added back. - DD —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.189.35.63 (talk) 17:56, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
If she is that notable then she should have her own page. This page is about Christine Daae the character, not someone who happens to have changed their name in admiration. ElphaPearl (talk) 21:02, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
