i suck

[edit] Sales correction

Stripped did NOT sell 14 Million. By mid 2004, it crossed the 10 Million mark. I highly doubt the album went on to sell another 4 million copies without any promo since early '04.

As for her self-titled, once again, it did NOT sell 16 Million. Last time I checked, it sold 13 Million.

Why can't obsessive fans just be happy with the real amounts? She's trampling her rivals, Beyonce & Britney, WITH OR WITHOUT inflated sales.

[edit] Album sources

  • I agree with the album sales, however Popdirt.com is NOT AN OFFICIAL SOURCE! It is more like a tabloid source for Pop fans.--172.150.40.35 22:18, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Real Album Sales

Christina Aguilera-16 million (Go on her official site, it says so) Mi Reflejo- 5 million (Most reliable sources) My Kind Of Christmas- 3 million (Most reliable sources) Just be Free-1 million (Most reliable sources again) Stripped- 12 million (Most reliable source

[edit] Sales from Official website

Her official website says that Stripped sold 10 million+

NO IT DOS NOT "10mil+ and grammy for new artist of year" This refers to of her 1st album. Duh'

They don't say anything about her self-titled-debut's sales, as they only have 2 titles "Back to Basics" and "Stripped Biography" Which Refers to sucess of the first lp.

[edit] MTV claims stripped sold 12 mill

Ha!Read this link and then you will suck! MTV claims that Stripped sold 12 million worldwide. Read it and weep. Link=[10] No, I will not weeb cos fact of da matter read her biography which 25 mil albums sold! I will continue to change this article back until u accept, check her official under the bio section it states she's sold over 25 millions, this proves you album sales are exaggerated!Reuters article is a respected website and obtained the records sales from her own record label. I give you credit obtaining weblinks but the figures of 16mil, 12mil, 3.5mil, 3mil, 1mil are unrealistic as it amounts more than 30mil albums (35.5 mil to be exact) , if this were the case her own website! (Check her own official biography) would stated over 25mil albums, this prove stripped did not sell 12mil and and debut lp did not 16mil. Check reteurs artcle [11] Stripped sold 9.5m.

The Rollingstone Aug 2006 and Reuters Articles are latest up to date that MTV is well old!

  • Look, I like Christina a lot too, but lets be realistic. Her own record label has confirmed that she only sold over 25 million albums worldwide. We cant take info from other places like sites that use Wikipedia as a source or even MTV as the truth. Her own record label confirmed the album sales:
  • Christina Aguilera- 12.5 million
  • Stripped- 9.5 million
  • Mi Reflejo- 2.2 million
  • My Kind Of Christmas- 3 million
  • Just Be Free- over 1 millionLAUGH90 02:31, 29 August 2006 (UTC)

THANK U ! U R A REALIST! THERE ARE F**KING AIRHEADS FANS ON THIS WIKIPEDIA SITE SOME PEEPS SHOULD ACCEPT THA TRUTH!

I agree that these are the sales

  • Christina Aguilera- 12.5 million
  • Stripped- 9.5 million
  • Mi Reflejo- 2.2 million
  • My Kind Of Christmas- 3 million

But what I dont like is when someone takes away chart positions for half of the countries change the sales dont take away information.

[edit] Singles

Folks, I fixed the singles table. I'm kinda surprised it was allowed to stay in that condition... the columns were all messed up and out of line and it looked confusing. It now adheres to the Wikipedia Tables for Charts guideline in WP:MUSIC. I also stuck a citation tag in the worldwide sales column.... I didn't remove the numbers that were there, but I don't know where they came from. -- eo 12:57, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing it I also dont know where they got the numbers but I think they have accurate sales for Ain't No Other Man because its similar to the amount said in the Global Chart. Again thanks for fixing it good job!!
Some people has written about singles sales worldwide, information is not true because they use mediatraffic.de as a reference (it's okay) BUT mediatraffic.de count airplay points + sales points (not only sales points) that's why I've deleted that information 201.134.127.27 03:52, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Stripped Sales

According to the All Time Chart Stripped has sold 6,321,000 copies worlwide which I think is accurate its raked in at #31 [12]

That's not accurate because it only keeps track of the sales when it was on their top 40 albums list so it is well over 6 million Basinger19 21:16, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Stripped has sold over nine million to date, read source, please: http://www.rampway.org/ Kraft. 03:47, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Here it is another source, Rolling Stone magazine. http://www.rollingstone.com/. Kraft. 03:53, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] rumored album sales world wide

Worldwide Sales

  • 1999 - Christina Aguilera: 12,641,941
  • 2000 - Mi Reflejo: 2,134,866
  • 2000 - My Kind of Christmas: 1,316,182
  • 2001 - Just Be Free: 811,011
  • 2002 - Stripped: 9,844,023
  • 2006 - Back to Basics: 2,331,000 and counting

not sure the source if there even is one but this seems relatively believable, in my opinion anyway

First of all, I removed the world wide sales figures for the Christina Aguilera and Stripped albums. They were based on [this] article, which is a mirror of the wikipedia article you're looking at now. Also, I don't think we should use the the above figures either. Figures like these shouldn't be mentioned at all, unless they're from a reliable source (like the RIAA, for which unfortunately there is no international equivelant).Ζεύς 02:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
BUT, the worldwide sales wasn't added because of that rumored sales. The source that YOU removed has been deleted from "Today..." (a web site). When this reliable source still existed, it said:
  • Christina Aguilera: 12.5 million
  • Mi Reflejo: 2.1 million
  • Stripped: 9.5 million
and it's correct because her label (RCA) says that she has sold over 25 million worldwide in August, then we can say:
  • Christina Aguilera: 12.5 million
  • My Kind of Christmas: 1.3 million
  • Mi Reflejo: 2.1 million
  • Stripped: 9.5 million
  • TOTAL: 25.4 million Kraft. 05:37, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
Just to make things clear: I removed the sales figures because the [source] that was used for them was a mirror of this article on answers.com, not because they were based on the rumoured numbers metioned earlier. You'll have to agree that using an article as a source for itsself doesn't sound like a teribly good idea.
If you've found another (reliable) source, great! Make a proper citation for it, and add it to the article.
No, that wasn't the source that I was talking about. It used to be this one: today.reuters.com but it doesn't exist anymore.
I found this: www.smh.com.au it says Christina Aguilera's self-titled album has sold 12 million. Kraft. 08:55, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Singles

What about the singles "Somos Novios (It's Impossible)" with Andrea Bocelli or "A song for you" with Herbie Hancock? I don't see either of those singles on the singles chart. Could someone please add those? Thanks!! --FreeWikiWiki 16:05, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] States

Don't edit france, because it isn't important (Juruco)

[edit] 15 Songs For You

I added the '15 Songs For You' entry, CD cover and link as it is an internet phenomenon quantifiable by the linked torrent on the main page which has been downloaded nearly 200,000 times and this is just one of the many sources. There is an entry for a similar title 'Britney Spears - The Unreleased' on Wiki which has been up for a while without controversy.

Before just reverting can a few of us discuss the relevence of this album and if general opinion is it is not needed here then I'm happy to go along but one person reverting my effort seems unfair.

Interested in any comments.

Regards, Adw uk 11:13, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

I got reverted again by a non-registered user so I have again put my additions back. Once again, if any registered user cares to enter into a discussion as to why this non-official (but downloaded hundreds of thousands of times across the globe) does not belong in this section please do it here and the group can make an reasoned decision. Adw uk 20:16, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

  • Reverted again by another non-registered user so my entry is back until a discussion takes place here and a consensus is reached as to it's validity.

[edit] US sales

Just found this (according to Nielsen SoundScan):

Kraft. 21:34, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

How did you come across those numbers? Generally, SoundScan figures aren't even freely released to the public. Spellcast 17:52, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
That's the SoundScan system, somebody must have leaked them into the internet like happens to the unreleased songs. Kraft. 03:55, 27 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Numbers sold

There is some weird tweaking and revertions of the numbers sold, and I am feeling to tired to properly look at the sources, just confused myself when I did. Could someone please ensure that the numbers of albums sold we give in the article matches the sources cited? J Milburn 23:15, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Worldwide sales

According to the United World Chart Back to Basics has sold 3,654,000 to date, thet 7.5% actually doesn't exist due to there's no source that says it does.
Adding the alleged "missing" 7.5% to the Media Traffic figure is original research, because the 7.5% figure is an estimation that could vary from album to album (depending on how well each sells in the regions covered/not covered by Media Traffic). Original research is not allowed. Kraft. 01:23, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

SALES

Why does everyone keep putting the wrong sales for ALL of Christina Aguilera's albums? Stripped has sold over 4.1 million in the USA according to the Latest Bilboard Catalogue Chart and 10 million worldwide. Christina Aguilera has sold 8.1 million in the USA and 12.5 million worldwide. Back To Basics has sold 4 million worldwide. Why the FUCK is everyone changing these sales...they are INCORRECT!

"Stripped" has sold over nine million copies worldwide.
[ "Back to Basics" has sold 3,811,000 copies worldwide] Kraft. 05:33, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure about this AskMen link being a reliable source, but what about the other sources? Mi Reflejo sales have 2 sources: The Washington Post (2007) & The New Zealand Herald (2006). Both would be reliable, but The Washington Post source is almost a year more recent. Also, this Billboard site (again, a reliable source) says My Kind of Christmas sold 3 million.
