[edit] Edits by Bronks
A furious sequence of edits today by Bronks has produced an article resembling an elephant! The English is not good, and it seems to be extensively copy edited from the sole external link provided (San Diego Union Tribune). Maybe Bronks would like to revert some or all of his own edits, or at least translate them properly into English?Phase4 22:32, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Actually I haven't even read that link you refer to. I just felt that this article could and should grow, and that it would look better if it was divided into a couple of sections instead of just one whole text. But I'm sure there are lots of language errors, so maybe you could be nice and try to correct them instead of attacking me... Bronks 11:39, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

- I've tidied up the article, as requested. Hope it meets with your approval.Phase4 15:04, 6 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Problems with Pettersson
I didn't edit the article because I don't know the true events, but in the Deaths section Pettersson is listed as dieing in February 2004, after having been in a coma since September, also 2004. He is also listed as buried in January 2005. I have a feeling some of these dates might be just a bit off? --71.232.102.54 07:10, 27 June 2006 (UTC)Diana
- Thanks, I've corrected the date of death. It now reads September 29, 2004.Phase4 11:28, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
I think it is Solna, not Sollentuna where Crille P was born and raised, atleast he went to school there.
- I think you are right, the swedish wiki says he lived in Solna and then moved to Sollentuna. Bronks 17:02, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- Concerning the 2006 documentary, I saw this on Swedish tv and a few days later, on the internet I found some comments written years before which vclearly showed that some vital elements of this "new testimony" (the idea that Palme had been killed by confusion with the black-gambling guy/drug dealer Sigge who, btw, also knew Pettersson) had been voiced several years back. Even the guy who was credited with being the main source ("Junkie Roger") was the same; he died shortly after the programme aired. I think this puts a heavy burden of discredit on the claim of sensational new evidence.
- Most likely, we'll never know for sure who killed Palme. In the absence of the murder weapon, already in the 90s it was just about impossible to get anyone convicted for the murder: if some other guy than Christer were tried, all the defence would have to do was to point to Lisbeth Palme's testimony pointing C.P. out, and then the case would begin to crumble (there are no other really close witnesses of the moment of the murder). [edit] Credible confession would solve the murder
There doesn't have to be a full trial to determine who did it! A credible confession would suffice. Who's going to step forward?Phase4 21:00, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
No, in court a mere confession isn't enough. Not even by someone who has certainly been very close to the scene of the crime and could be the guilty one. That would do in a Soviet court, but not when investigating a murder in a civilized court.
Honestly, any cop who has been at the centre of a well-publicized murder investigation knows ther will be a certain number of loonies who come forward (or make anonymous crank calls) and say they did it. So a) if Pettersson confessed, then it won't be enough in itself, and b)if soemone else vconfessed, post 1989, then all the defence has to do is to put Lisbeth on the witness stand and renew her testimony that she did see Christer P shoot her husband (she can't really draw that one back and even if she did, then she would be a less than excellent witness, even a lousy one - "if you said three years after the murder you were positive on C.P., but now you've reverted, why should the court believe you now?").
So because of Mrs Palme's crucial status as the best witness, any future trial would most likely stall. We're stuck: there will never be a judicial solution to this. Strausszek September 10, 2006 06:00 (CEST)

- There is a lot of rumers like these, (Aftonbladet wrote about it, No other newspaper has paid any attention to it...) I think we should wait to write about it until there is an official police statmenent on it... Bronks 15:57, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

- 'No other newspaper has paid any attention to it': Wrong. I found the news here: http://www.jp.dk/udland/artikel:aid=4225316 . 'I think we should wait to write about it until there is an official police statmenent on it': The police find the new evidence 'very interesting' - http://aftonbladet.se/vss/nyheter/story/0,2789,991401,00.html . Stay tuned...
Okay, maybe it is interesting, we will see. But so far, no serious newspaper in Sweden has written anything about it. I don't care much for the Gossip-Aftonbladet and Danish Jyllands Posten. Bronks 16:32, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, but you're wrong again: See http://www.svd.se/dynamiskt/inrikes/did_14556982.asp : 'Pettersson acknowledged the murder towards his girlfriend'. Svenska Dagbladet should fulfill your requirements, which a tabloid like Aftonbladet understandably can't. - By the way, what is wrong with Jyllands-Posten? Or are you a mohammedan?

How much was Petterson's former girlfriend paid for this little gem of information, I wonder?Phase4 22:20, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
