Please explain what sections of this article you would like to see removed.

The personal history is not relevant or appropriate for an encyclopaedia article. The only notable thing about this subject appears to be his book; if this is a notable publication (no idea if it is) then perhaps it should have its own page and this one be deleted. If you can demonstrate the notability of this subject, then please follow the manual of style and the guidelines on biographies of living persons to produce an good-quality article. Ok I will change it. Please note. Forming a rock band is also notable. I note a lot of other rock stars have their personal histories on this site.

This page contains serious inaccuracies and misrepresentations. As I am the subject of this entry, I can confirm that much of the material it contains is erroneous, malicious and borders on libel. I would note that my book was not a best-selling publication and would request that this entry be deleted.

[edit] Subject requesting deletion

As the subject of this article, I am again requesting its deletion, for two reasons: a) firstly, it still contains errors. For example, the references to work that it is claimed i did on climate change in the Mackenzie Basin and Northwest Canada is wrong. There are, in fact, two climate change writers/researchers named Chris Spence, and whoever wrote this entry has included work from both of them. Also, I would argue that the entry does not take a neutral point of view (NPOV), since it seems in some instances to focus on the negative reviews of my work, rather than the many positive ones. b) secondly, and more importantly, it is my understanding that wikipedia is supposed to contain entries on famous or noteworthy people, events, etc. I am not trying to be modest when i state that i am not famous. When this entry was originally created, it was proposed for deletion for this reason. The person who made the entry said that it should stay, and incorrectly asserted in the article that i had written a best-selling book. My book is not best-selling, selling just a few thousand copies. I am not a well known figure.

So, because of the ongoing inaccuracies and the fact that i do not justify an entry in wikipedia at this stage, i would request once again that this article be deleted.

Corrections: The references to the other Chris Spence, the one who studied climate change in the MacKenzie Basin and NorthWest Canada have now been removed. (JB)

  • Delete What best selling book? This guy's book doesn't look best selling. You can get it for as little as $0.98 on the internet. Not only that but it looks like rehashed propaganda. What serious or significant statement can a journalist have to say about a technical subject like causes, significance, or consequences of Global Warming, anyway? There is no notability here, just a page hyping some guy. In fact, look at the original post, it's just an ad for the book, with a link to Amazon right there at the beginning.--James52 (talk) 02:08, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Keep - The original post never mentioned amazon.com. This was put in there at the request of a wikipedia reviewer who wanted more emphasis on the book. The book explains global warming to the masses in a way that hasn't been done before. Calling it rehashed propaganda is an insult to the author of this book.
