"he will play the keyboard on a slant or even horizontal." What's so special about playing a keyboard horizontally? Was this supposed to mean vertical?

[edit] Year for the CX-3?

The article says Ross's CX-3 is from 1976, but Korg's web page says the CX-3 first went on sale in 1979. Which one is correct?
