I took the liberty to remove this,

"Another great book illustrated by Chris Riddell is Corby Flood in which an 8 year girl goes on a cruise ship and saves the mysterious thing in the wooden crate. A sequel should really be made because the villains escape at the end. for ages 8+ (8-12 is best) 232 pages In total."
