Welcome
Welcome to Portal talk:Christianity in China page. This a part of WikiProject Christianity

- If I can help here, let me know. I also urge you to set the portal up in Random rather than Archive fashion, as it will save many headaches later. -- Secisek (talk) 21:58, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
- I have almost completed the switch to random format. They are no longer passing archive portals to Feature Portal rank. This will also save us the trouble of having to insure there is content here every month. We just add the articles and pics as they become Featured or GA. -- Secisek (talk) 07:07, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
POV portal
This portal should be deleted. It's just ideological; it doesn't represent a specific branch of Christianity but the phenomenon of Christianity in China, that in modern times is surrounded by controversies and criticism due to contrast between reliable studies and USA-evangelical pushings and beliefs about a Chinese Christian population that is much smaller than they say. http://www.worldtribune.com/worldtribune/WTARC/2006/lev12_15.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.15.87.158 (talk) 11:43, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, this is about the "phenomenon of Christianity in China", not a specific branch which would tend to be POV. The growth of Christianity in China during the last 50 years has no historical parallel. I'll be re-vamping Christianity in China soon where there has already been a healthy debate about the numbers on Talk:Christianity in China. Cheers!Brian0324 (talk) 14:03, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
The phenomenon of Christianity in China is certainly worth a portal. There is no reason for this portal not to exist. You can take issue with content of the features, but not with the existance of the portal itself. -- Secisek (talk) 02:50, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- The portal is currently extremely POV. It stresses the false claims of evangelical-Bush worshiper Americans and reports the sensationalistic claims of a fanatic evangelical journalist. "The growth of Christianity in China during the last 50 years has no historical parallel" --> Chinese are 1.3 billion people. Any minority religious group existing in China, seems an exploding phenomenon to external observers.
- The portal currently spreads misinformation. False claims about Christianity in China are around since the 1980s. - This portal mirrors articles such as Christianity in China. If you have a dispute about content, please add your concerns to the Talk:Christianity in China page. This portal is just a collection of featured links to help understand what already exists in Wikipedia regarding this subject.Thanks.Brian0324 (talk) 17:49, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
The portal is not POV, the content maybe, but you need to dispute at the individual articles, not here, I also encourage you to register. The suggestion that I would be a tool of "evangelical-Bush worshiper Americans" will be a source of never ending humour for me. -- Secisek (talk) 18:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- The portal is a tool of Bush worshipers, I didn't mean you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.11.78.218 (talk) 20:08, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- This portal is NO POV. Excellant efforts - Tinucherian (talk) 08:39, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- This portal is POV, and needs cleaning, dear Indian Christian. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.13.83.210 (talk) 19:11, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, settle this at the article, not on the portal. Would you really be pleased if it was "correct" here and not at the article. Changing it here will not change the article. Changing the article will change the portal. Please be constructive. The portal cannot have a POV issues, the content can. If you want to dispute the content, go to the articles in question. I again encourage you all to register. -- Secisek (talk) 20:18, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
