The Chronicles of the Necromancer is a series of fantasy novels written by Gail Z. Martin. The Summoner is the first book in the series. It was released January 30, 2007. The second book in the series is called The Blood King and was released on February 1, 2008 in the US.

The world of Prince Martris Drayke is thrown into sudden chaos and disorder when his brother murders their father and seizes the throne.
