Chrome is track number 3 from the 1981 debut solo album Koo Koo by Debbie Harry. This song was issued as an advance 12" promo in the United States with "Under Arrest" as the B-side but it never had a commercial release. A 7" single was however released in Germany, the B-side was "The Jam Was Moving", which was an A-side in the United Kingdom and the United States. "Chrome" failed to chart in Germany.
A fourth single from the moderately successful Koo Koo album, "Jump Jump", was also planned but ultimately only released in one country: Peru. The track was however included on the 1982 soundtrack album Soup for One along with other Chic recordings by Carly Simon, Sister Sledge and Teddy Pendergrass.
Just two months after Koo Koo was released Chrysalis Records issued the first Blondie hits compilation, The Best of Blondie, and the band started recording their sixth studio album The Hunter.
