Christos Tapoutos

Christos Tapoutos (Greek: Χρήστος Ταπούτος; born September 22, 1982 in Thessaloniki, Greece) is a Greek professional basketball player currently playing for AEK Athens BC. He plays as a forward and during his early professional years he was considered as a great european talent.

He started his career with Achilleas Triandrias. In 1999 we joined Near East BC for two seasons before earning a transfer to AEK Athens BC where he played till 2004. He then moved to Iraklis BC (2004/05), and afterwards to Panionios BC (2005/06) before returning to AEK Athens BC.

- He was considered as the most 'spectacular' Greek player in his age in 2001.
- Entered the 2002 & 2003 NBA Drafts but withdraw later.
- Won the Greek Championship with AEK Athens BC in 2002.
- Won the Bronze Medal in 2000 Eurobasket for Junior Men.
- Won the Gold Medal in 2002 Eurobasket for Young Men.
- Won the Silver Medal in 2001 Mediterranean Games.
- He was the 1st scorer of the Eurobasket Challenge Round for Young Men in July 2001 averaging 27 points.
- He debuted with the Men's National Team on August 8, 2001 vs Israel . Has 27 caps and scored 216 points.
