[edit] Early life
Christopher Jeburk was born to the Jeburk family, a prominent Southern African-American family. Many Jeburks are currently politically active or musicians. His uncle George Jeburk, for example, was a long-term educator and civil rights activist, who campaigned unsuccessfully for a position in the Georgia House of Representatives in 2000. Despite such a grand beginning, Jeburk quickly found his way into street life. It's been said the only love of his life was his mother. Otherwise, he didn't care about anybody else.
[edit] Crime
Beginning in 1995, Jeburk started robbing banks. For example, on one particular robbery on October 13, 1995, Jeburk held teller Amy Shaw hostage at gunpoint while stealing an unspecified amount of cash. After conviction, but awaiting sentencing, Jeburk escaped the Columbia County Detention Center on March 27. After he was recaptured on May 9, he then re-escaped. It was during this period that Jeburk began a string of bank heists, from Florida to New England, and was placed very high on the FBI's wanted index. With the help of Kimberly Williams, Jameela McCullen, and a fellow escapee, Jeburk pulled off his now infamous string of bank robberies. After this recapture, Jeburk was sentenced to life in prison, for the robberies, the kidnapping, various theft charges, gun charges and drug charges. At the age 31, Jeburk escaped again and using a phony passport, traveled to Indonesia to complete a grand jewelry heist. After his recapture, he was relocated to a maximum security facility in Kentucky with no chance of parole.
[edit] Money
It is estimated that Jeburk stole between 2 and 4 million dollars. To this date, all monies from Jeburk's bank heists have yet to be recovered or identified. Just with the October 13th robbery, 86000 USD is still unfound as of 2008.
[edit] Media
Jeburk was so infamous in his various heists that episodes of television programs were created around various crimes in his rap sheet. For example, "Held Hostage" chronicled the heist where he kidnapped Amy Shaw at gun point. Motion picture executives are negotiating to create a biopic on Jeburk. There is no timeline for when the movie may be released.
