Christopher Hewetson

Christopher Hewetson (17391799), the sculptor, was born in Kilkenny, Ireland. He moved to Rome in 1765 where he remained for the remainder of his life. He became well-known, creating busts of Pope Clement XIV and the Empress of Russia, and a monument to Cardinal Rezzonicco.
