Chris Evans (1847-1917) was an American outlaw.
Evans was the leader of the Evans-Sontag Gang which robbed several Southern Pacific trains in California between 1889 and 1892. Convicted and sentenced to life in Folsom Prison. Chris Evans was the first criminal ever to be put in Folsom Prison. Chris Evans escaped once, and then was paroled in 1911 as a "model prisoner". He died in Portland, Oregon, in 1917.
