Christopher Akerlind

Christopher Akerlind is an American lighting designer. He has designed many Broadway and Off-Broadway productions and received a Tony Award for Best Lighting Design for his work on the musical Light in the Piazza. He has received an Obie Award for sustained excellence for his work Off-Broadway. He trained with Jennifer Tipton at the Yale School of Drama and is noted for for his work for director Lloyd Richards on the first productions of the plays of August Wilson, including The Piano Lesson and Seven Guitars.
