Christophe Honoré is a French writer and film director born in Brittany, France in 1970. He wrote in "Les Cahiers du Cinéma" before becoming a director. He has been the screenwriter for some of Gaël Morel's films. He has directed Romain Duris in two different films. His book Tout contre Léo is famous in France as it talks very cleverly about HIV to children. He is considered an "auteur" in French Cinema and his latest film "Dans Paris" has led him to be considered by French critics as the heir to the Nouvelle-Vague Cinema. Some of his movies or screenplays (like Les filles ne savent pas nager or "Dix-sept fois Cécile Cassard)" deal with gay or lesbian relations.

- He has said in various interviews that he originally did not want to cast Louis Garrel as Ismael in Les Chansons d'Amour but during the casting process Louis kept calling him and "insisting" so finally Christophe gave in and let Louis audition.
- Ludivine Sagnier's character in Les Chansons d'Amour is based on someone Christophe lost who died in the same way.
