In Ireland, Christmas is very religious and it lasts from December 24 to January 6, 13 days.[1] On the day after Christmas (St. Stephen's Day) male youths go around with a fake wren on a stick, singing, they will also accompany themselves or others with violins, accordions, and other instruments. They do this to collect money for themselves.[2] They also put out red candles decorated with holly to guide Mary and Joseph.[3]
In Irish Gaelic Nollaig Shona Dhuit means Merry Christmas.[4]
