Christina Smith (born October 4, 1957 in Miami, Florida) is an American model and businesswoman. Christina was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for March, 1978, at the tender age of twenty, posing on a dare from a male friend.
Christina's pictorial was shot mostly on the beach at the Santa Monica Pier in California, and also at a beach near Goleta, California, where Christina is seen both in and out of a bikini. Her centerfold was photographed by Arny Freytag. Following her centerfold appearance, Christina did much promotional work for Playboy and appeared in many Playboy special editions, working steadily for the magazine in some capacity for more than ten years. In fact, as late as 1991, Christina performed promotional work for Playboy by visiting wounded military servicemen returning from Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield.
While working for Playboy, Christina grew wary of the economic uncertainty of the vocation of a pin-up and promotional model. In her early twenties, Christina focused her intelligence and communication skills toward a career in real estate, acquiring a real estate broker's license from the State of California. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Christina has held concurrent positions as a real estate broker and mortgage consultant in several regions of California, including Los Angeles County, the San Francisco Bay Area (specifically Marin County), and Napa and Sonoma counties.
Christina has overcome several health problems in the years since she appeared in Playboy magazine, including a congenital heart defect, endometrial cancer, and mitral valve replacement surgery. Christina continues her career in real estate, operating a real estate sales office and mortgage financing business in Siskiyou County, California, where, as of August 2006, she resides with her huband. Christina's move to the Shasta Cascade region of California demonstrates her business saavy, as many baby-boomers from the San Francisco Bay Area have begun to retire to this region. Retirees purchase homes, thus providing opportunities for Christina's businesses.
While her career as a real estate professional is time consuming, Christina has found time to reconnect with her legion of fans through various mediums. Christina attends model/fan appreciation events such as Glamourcon, where she autographs and sells various Playboy memorabilia. Christina is also a collector of Playboy memorabilia, owning a copy of the premier issue of Playboy magazine depicting Marilyn Monroe on its cover, as well as a Playboy Club key card autographed by Hugh Hefner. Christina also belongs to several Yahoo! Groups, where she chats with her fans "on-line" over the Internet.
