Christianah Oluwatoyin Oluwasesin
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Christianah Oluwatoyin Oluwasesin was a Christian Nigerian teacher who was beaten to death by Muslim schoolgirls for allegedly touching the Qur'an. On March 21, 2007 Oluwasesin collected bags and other materials from students, as a part of the preparations for an exam. One of the girls claimed that her bag had a copy of the Qur'an in it, and that Oluwasesin had desecrated it because she as a Christian had touched it. Her claim alarmed Muslims inside and outside the school, and the students began to chant in unison, "Allahu Akbar" (God is Great)". Despite attempts from the principal and another teacher to protect her, the Muslims "tore her apart, limb-by-limb". The girls then dragged her corpse outside of the school building and burned it.[1]
