[edit] Career
Smith started his senior career with Port Vale, where he made one appearance, on New Years Day 2007 against Scunthorpe United. Smith had two loan spells in the English Conference, firstly with Cambridge United, from January 2007 to March 2007, then with Northwich Victoria from March till April 2007. Smith was released by Port Vale at the end of the season.
Smith then came to Scotland to sign with Scottish First Division side Clyde.[1] He made his debut in Clyde's opening game of the 2007-08 campaign, a defeat away to Greenock Morton. Smith started in Clyde's first eleven matches of the season, before a red card against Livingston led to him dropping out of the team due to suspension. He was released by Clyde in June 2008.[2]
