Christian Patterson (born 1972) is an American photographer.

Born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, Patterson lives in New York City.

In 2002 Patterson moved from Brooklyn, New York to Memphis, Tennessee to work with legendary fine art photographer William Eggleston. During the time he lived in Memphis, Patterson began working on his first project, Sound Affects", a collection of color photographs that explore Memphis, Tennessee as a visual and musical place. It captures musical locations, music’s presence and influence, and the musicality of everyday life.

In 2005 Patterson began working on his second project, "Out There", which is loosely inspired by the true crime story of Charles Starkweather and Caril Ann Fugate, two teenagers who killed ten people in three days as they traveled across the state of Nebraska. Later that year, Patterson moved from Memphis, Tennessee to Brooklyn, New York.

Patterson is represented by Yancey Richardson Gallery in New York, Robert Koch Gallery in San Francisco and Kaune-Sudendorf Gallery in Cologne, Germany.

In 2008, a limited edition "Sound Affects" book was published.
