Christian Ludwig II, Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin

Christian Ludwig II (15 May 1683 – 30 May 1756) was the Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin from 1747 to 1756.
He was the son of Friedrich I of Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Christine Wilhelime, princess of Hesse-Homburg. In 1714 he married Gustave Caroline of Mecklenburg-Strelitz, and had five children :
- Friedrich II, Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin (1717-85); married Luise Friederike of Württemberg (1722-91)
- Ludwig (1725-78); married Charlotte Sophie of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld (1731-1810). They were the parents of Friedrich Franz I, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
- Ulrike Sofie (1723-1813)
- Luise (1730)
- Amalie (1732-75
His court included Johann Gottfried Müthel as organist and cembalist and Konrad Ekhof as comedian.
