[edit] History
Christian Fellowship School began in 1981 with only three teachers: a kindergarten teacher, an elementary teacher, and a high school teacher. Only 24 students were enrolled at that time. The school now employs an administrative staff of over 5 and over 15 teachers from preschool through high school. Christian Fellowship School is celebrating 25 years of teaching students.
[edit] Mission Statement
To partner with Christian parents
To provide quality Christian education
To prepare students for a life-time of fruitful Christian service.
[edit] Vision
The vision of Christian Fellowship School is to raise up multiple generations of Godly young people:
• who love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength,
• who serve Him in both their vocational calling and in the local church.
• who worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
[edit] Curriculum
Christian Fellowship School offers its students a curriculum that is based on Christian principles. The ACSI curriculum is used in both preschool and kindergarten, and the A Beka curriculum is used in elementary 1-6. Art, music, PE, chapel, band, library and computer skills classes supplement this curriculum. Bob Jones and A Beka curricula along with some secular texts compromise the high school curriculum.
[edit] Activities
In the years since opening the school, Christian Fellowship has added numerous extracurricular activities for the students. In the fall, boys soccer and girl’s volleyball is offered. Students as young as sixth grade are encouraged to become involved. In the winter months, boy's and girl's basketball along with both varsity and junior varsity cheerleading are offered. The spring months include girl’s soccer, a coed golf and a coed track team. All of Christian Fellowship School’s sport's teams compete against other Christian high school teams throughout the state of Missouri. At the end of each season, the teams go to Joplin, Missouri to compete in the state wide competition of Christian schools. Other activities that Christian Fellowship School offers its students include the yearbook team and drama team. Each year the drama team performs a play for the school and community. Also at the end of each year, students compete in the ACSI state-wide competition. Numerous academic areas are included in this competition including art, science projects, musical pieces and performances, written work, and mathematical competitions.
[edit] Uniform and Dress Code
Christian Fellowship School does require its students to wear a uniform until 9th grade. Following 9th grade, students must follow a stringent dress code. For students from kindergarten through sixth grade, the uniform consists of navy blue pants, shorts, skirts, or jumpers with white or red polos or button-down shirts. The school does have a specified plaid that students can wear in the form of a skirt or jumper. Once students reach seventh grade, khaki pants, capris, skirts, or shorts may be worn. From ninth grade through twelfth grade students must adhere to a dress code that restricts skirt and short length and specifies what style of shirts, shoes and other articles of clothing that are allowed and not allowed.
