The Christian Brothers University Buccaneers and Lady Buccaneers are the official sports teams of Christian Brothers University. The Bucs and Lady Bucs play in Division II as a part of the Gulf South Conference.
The university's colors are scarlet and grey. The mascot is Bucky the Buccaneer.

[edit] Conference history
The Buccaneers began playing in the 1950s as independents. Over the last half-century, CBU has competed in the NAIA Division I in the Volunteer State Athletic Conference and the Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference.[1] Since 1992, CBU has been a member of the NCAA Division II in the Gulf South Conference.

Men's intercollegiate sports include baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and tennis.
Women's intercollegiate sports include basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball.
15% of students participate in intercollegiate sports.[2] Each of these sports, with the exception of golf, offers scholarships to student athletes.[2]

In addition to intercollegiate athletics, CBU offers intramural sports. Types of intramurals, such as volleyball, flag football, and bowling, vary from year to year.[3]
The university also sponsors a club lacrosse team that is not affiliated with the Department of Athletics.[4]
