Christian August (November 29, 1690 – March 16, 1747) was a German Prince of Anhalt-Zerbst and Prussian Generalfeldmarschall. He was the father of Empress Catherine II of Russia.
Christian August was born in Dornburg, now part of Gommern. He was the son of Johann Ludwig of Anhalt-Zerbst and Christine Eleonore von Zeutch. His paternal grandparents were John of Anhalt-Zerbst and Sofie Auguste of Holstein-Gottorp, a daughter of Frederick III of Holstein-Gottorp and Marie Elisabeth of Saxony.
On November 8, 1727, Christian August married Johanna Elisabeth von Schleswig-Holstein-Gottorp (October 24, 1712 - May 30, 1760), daughter of Prince Christian August of Holstein-Gottorp and Albertina Frederica of Baden-Durlach. Her brother was King Adolf Frederick of Sweden.
Christian August and Johanna Elisabeth were the parents of Catherine the Great, Empress of Russia.
Christian August died in Zerbst.
