Christensen {IPA|'kʁɛstənsən}, is a Danish (and Norwegian) patronymic surname, literally meaning son of Christen, a sideform of Christian. The spelling variant Kristensen has indentical prononciation. Christensen is the sixth commonest name in Denmark, shared by about 2% of the population.[1]
