Christa McAuliffe Planetarium
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Christa McAuliffe Planetarium is a planetarium in Concord, New Hampshire named in memory of Christa McAuliffe, the teacher who died in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster. The planetarium focuses on providing astronomy and air science learning, while also preserving the memory of Christa McAuliffe.
In January 2009, a two-story addition to the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium will create the new McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center (MSDC), named in honor of Christa McAuliffe, the first teacher in space, and Alan Shepard, the first American in space, both New Hampshire citizens.
