Christ College in Bangalore, India is a college run by the Catholic Minority Community, the fathers of the Congregation of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) in the Catholic Church. It has been accredited A+ by the NAAC, one of the first colleges in Karnataka to be accredited at that level.

Christ College(Autonomous) is the educational vision of Chavaraa , the founder of the CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) congregation. Blessed Chavara was a great educationalist and a social reformer of the 19th century. He could foresee the changes in the environment and make strategic moves to build up a better society based on fatherhood of God and brotherhood of humanity. In 2007, the college was ranked the 5th best college in India for pure Sciences, 8th best in India for Arts, 10th best for Commerce streams by The India Today. The college is also ranked #23 in the Business School rankings on India.

The NAAC declared Christ College as the the College with Potential for Excellence for the year 2008. The college was selected for the Best Campus Award by the Bangalore Urban Art Commission for four consecutive years, 1996 through 2000. Well-maintained gardens and buildings, air-conditioned Seminar Halls, Panel Room, Conference Hall, Assembly Hall, Auditorium, Health Club, Kiosk and all the requirements of an institute of higher learning are the unique features of the college.

Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous religious congregation of India with a membership of 2000, renders its service to humanity in educational, social, health care and other activities aiming at the integral development of the society. In the city of Bangalore, this congregation has various institutions, Christ College of Law, Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram-an ecclesiastical university that confers degrees in Philosophy and Theology, Christa Vidyalaya-a Kannada Medium School, Christ School-English Medium School, Christ Pre University Residential College for Boys', Christ Junior College and Christ College. Altogether 10,000 students are trained in the campus.

The primary focus of this institution is the minority Christian students who lag behind in educational opportunities. Though Christ College is a minority Christian institution, it is very secular in its outlook. Students of all religions, creeds and languages are encouraged to be part of this temple of learning. Students from all parts of India, and abroad, belonging to different religions, cultures and races, blend in to form this unique campus of Christ College.

Christ College is affiliated to Bangalore University, one of the largest State Universities in India. Within three decades, Christ College has become the most preferred educational institution in the city of Bangalore. Christ College has the rare distinction to be the first college in Karnataka to be accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) UGC for quality education. It is currently rated an A+ by the NAAC.

Christ College,Bangalore offers many courses at various levels. Some of their courses include Bachelor of Commerce,Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Management, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Hotel management, Bachelor of Science etc. A few of the post graduate courses include MBA, MSW etc. MBA course is gaining popularity at a rapid pace and Christ College Institute of Management is planning to offer its courses abroad as well. Christ College is also offering courses in Law (B.A.,LL.B.) and Education (B.Ed). It is one of the most respected colleges in India and is working towards developing itself to reach international standards.

Christ College has been visited by UGC team and is expecting to be conferred with Deemed University status. In the process of achieving International Standards and to develop Research Culture, construction of the new Research Block is just begun. A Research Coordinator is appointed and many departments have been identified as potential Research Centers. Partnership with Ohio University, USA and Hope University, Liverpool, UK are major attractions of the the proposed Research Programme. Christ College has successfully completed 10 years of the unique Undergraduate Twinning Programme with Western Michigan University, USA. Some of the Universities and Institutes in the US, the UK,Australia France and Indonesia accepts the credit transfer from Christ College. They include, Griffith, Australia, Swansea UK, WMU USA, Sheffield Hallam UK, Liverpool Hope UK, IESEG and Lille France etc.
