Chrishall (pronounced Krissul) is a small village in the English county of Essex, with a population of approximately 600. It is located fourteen miles south of Cambridge. Due east is the Essex market town of Saffron Walden, and due west the Hertfordshire town of Royston. To the north, the main A505 road runs east-west and the village is signed from it. Alternatively, the village can be accessed from the south from the B1039. Although in Essex, Chrishall has a Hertforshire postcode (SG8).

The village has a pub, church, Primary school, village hall and adventure playground.
The barn attached to the Red Cow pub is the oldest building in Chrishall apart from the church, believed to date to 1500. It closed for several months in 1998, re-opening in 1999[1]. There was once a village shop in front of the pub, however this is now closed.
The Holy Trinity Church is situated on the edge of the main village.
In the centre of the village lies the school, village hall and adventure playground.
