Chris Yates (rugby union player)

Chris Yates (born 13th May, 1971, Sydney, New South Wales) is an Australian rugby union player. Yates has represented Australia at 7 a side rugby and played first grade rugby with Northern Suburbs in Sydney. In Europe Yates has played for such teams as Grenoble, Gloucester, Sale Sharks and Worcester. He usually played as a flyhalf or inside centre.

Whoever wrote this has got 2 Chris Yates's rolled into 1. The Chris Yates who played rugby union was born in NZ, played for Auckland Varsity, moved to England in 1991. He was playing league for an amateur team (Saddleworth Rangers) then switched back to rugby, playing for Old Aldwinians. From there he was picked up by Sale, played for England 7s at Hong Kong in 1995 before joining Gloucester. Whilst at Gloucester he got the call-up for England B. After leaving Gloucester, he went to Worcester, Grenoble, Plymouth Albion, Doncaster, Esher, and then to Worthing as a player/coach.
