Chris Trew
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chris Trew aka Terp 2 it is a comedian in Austin, Texas. He runs ColdTowne along with four others who evacuated New Orleans, Louisiana in August 2005 during Hurricane Katrina. The troupe decided to remain in Austin, citing the growing popularity of the comedy scene. Because of the nature of their arrival, ColdTowne has gotten lots of press from the Austin Chronicle, the popular improv resource Yes And and various other papers around the country.
Chris Trew was born March 17, 1981 in New Orleans. He attended Covington High School where he was nearly expelled the final week of his 1999 senior year because of a website that documented the number of people who liked and didn't like him. The principal, Betty Cronin said the website had "too much in common with Columbine" and expelled Trew. After appealing to the St. Tammany Parish school board, the punishment was reduced to a suspension.
He has been seen at the Chicago Improv Festival, Del Close Marathon, and the Phoenix Improv Festival, among others. Recently he has been featured on the website for Nerdcore Rising, a documentary about nerdcore rap for his work as Terp 2 it who appeared at SXSW in 2008.
