Chris Steele is an independent film director (Idyllica Films) and singer/songwriter (Steele of the Whores) from Manchester, UK. His first two films, Comfort Blanket and Perfect Eyes, presented the concept of the music film: an individualistic genre similar to, although reacting against the promotional aspect of, the music video genre. Both films accompany Steele of the Whores songs sharing the same names in accordance with "the three principles of music filmmaking" set out in a preceding title echoing other film manifestos such as Dogme 95.
