Chris Smith (Australian rules footballer)

Chris Smith (born 18 March 1988) is an Australian Rules Footballer who is currently on the Fremantle Football Club's rookie list in the Australian Football League.

Smith was drafted by Fremantle with the club's first round pick in the 2006 Rookie Draft. He is originally from Queensland and played for AFL Queensland club Mt Gravatt in 2006. He is a versatile player, being used as a midfielder, wingman or as a mid-sized forward. He represented Queensland in the AFL U18 Championships in 2005 and 2006. He is 184 cm tall and weighs 81kg and the first player ever to be drafted from Queensland by a Western Australian team.[1]

Smith spent the 2007 season playing for Swan Districts in the WAFL. He was retained on Fremantle's rookie list for a second year in 2008.[1]
