Chris Shaffer is a singer/songwriter from Indiana with a repertoire of 130+ original songs.

Chris rose to some amount of fame as the frontman of the biggest-drawing Indianapolis band of the '90s, The Why Store. Following two successful independent releases, their major label debut on MCA Records spawned several hits. The first single, "Lack Of Water", was a #1 hit on Triple-A Radio; the band performed "Surround Me" on Late Night with Conan O' Brien and saw their video for "Father" receive rotation on MTV2 and VH1. The Why Store was a Top 20 album for 1996 and went on to sell 200,000 copies.

After ten years and six albums, The Why Store broke up in 2000. After The Why Store disbanded Shaffer continued writing and performing new music. His first project, Shaffer Street, included his then wife, Heather Marie Shaffer, adding vocals and songwriting. After a number of incarnations, Shaffer eventually began to simply use the name "Chris Shaffer."

Some of the artists that Chris has shared the stage with include John Mellencamp, The Clarks, Sonia Dada, The Tragically Hip, Widespread Panic, Eddie Money, Foreigner, Kansas, Train, Cowboy Mouth, Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers, Violent Femmes, Bone Pony, Vertical Horizon, Pat Travers, George Clinton, Cracker, Incubus, Hoobastank, Mickey Hart Band, Robert Bradley's Blackwater Surprise, The Bodeans, Big Head Todd & The Monsters, Ben Harper, The Samples and Collective Soul.
