Along with Shaun Alexander, Chris McIntosh was drafted by the Seahawks in the first round in 2000; however, when McIntosh held out during training camp, Coach Mike Holmgren became notably furious with his first round draft choice. Nevertheless, McIntosh's playing time increased as the 2000 season went on. McIntosh started in 10 games for the Seattle Seahawks as a rookie, but was limited to three starts in 2001 because of a recurring neck injury he suffered during the 2001 training camp. In his brief career McIntosh showed glimpses of the talent that made him a first-round draft pick; however, lost the starting job to Todd Weiner in 2001. McIntosh spent two additional seasons with the Seahawks prior to being released on June 25, 2003. a contrast to his Wisconsin teammate Mark Tauscher, a 7th round pick who has started an impressive 64 games.
