Chris Leaman
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Chris Leaman (born June 26, 1980 in Shrewsbury) is a British Liberal Democrat politician. He represents Mapesbury ward in Brent (with Hayley Matthews and Sami Hashmi). Leaman was chief whip of the Liberal Democrat group on Brent Council from 2006 to 2007. In May 2007 he was appointed chair of the Health Scrutiny Committee.
Prior to being elected himself, Leaman played a significant role in the election campaigns of Sarah Teather, who dramatically took Brent East from Labour in a 2003 by-election, and Ben Abbotts, who slashed a 12,000 Conservative majority in Bromley and Chislehurst in 2006.
In November 2006 it was announced that Leaman would become London Campaigns Officer for the Liberal Democrats, meaning he will be masterminding the party's campaign for London constituencies at the next general election.
