Christopher Lynn King (born April 10, 1987) is an American sportscaster. He is best known for his play-by-play announcing for Comcast Varsity Sports On Demand. He also serves as a correspondent for KJR (AM) for the shows Varsity Football/Hoops Live. He was recently named the new voice of the Wenatchee Applesox of the West Coast Collegiate Baseball League.

King was born in Everett, WA and raised in nearby Marysville. After graduating from Marysville-Pilchuck High School, King began his broadcasting career in 2005 as an undergraduate at the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University. He is a broadcast news major.

[edit] KJR-AM Varsity Sports Live

Since September 2005, King has been a reporter for both KJR signature Friday night shows, Varsity Football Live and Varsity Hoops Live, as the Greater Spokane League correspondent. King is part of the “Trip Around the State” segment, too.

Since the fall of 2006, King has called the Greater Spokane League’s “Game of the Week” for football, volleyball and basketball; it's available exclusively through the On Demand feature for Comcast digital cable subscribers across the state of Washington. Currently, his color commentator is Katon “Polar Bear” Bethay, who's a fullback for the af2’s Spokane Shock. [1]

On March 28, 2008, King was announced as the new radio voice of the Applesox. He will cover all 53 regular season games -- which includes both home and away contests -- for the 2008 season. His contract states that he will be heard on the team's flagship station, which is KPQ (AM). [2]

During the 2006 season, King served as both play-by-play and color commentator for the af2 Everett Hawks; it was owned by NFL all-pro Sam Adams at that time. From 2005-2007, he also co-hosted of the annual Marysville Strawberry Festival Parade; it airs on local cable channels in Snohomish County. During the summer of 2007, King interned at KOMO 1000 News Radio; he worked with the news and sports departments.
