Chris Kamolins

Chris Kamolins is an Australian rules football field umpire in the Australian Football League. He has umpired 20 career games in the AFL. [1] [2]

Born in 1977 on Christmas Day (25 December) as Christopher Charles Kamolins, Chris attended primary school at Greenhills Primary School in Greensborough, Melbourne, before completing his secondary education at St Helena Secondary College in Eltham North. Chris studied at a tertiary level at RMIT University, based at the Bundoora Campus, successfully achieving at a high level a Bachelor of Nursing degree.

In 2006 Kamolins created controversy, along with Darren Goldspink and Justin Schmitt, when they upset Carlton Football Club by scrawling their signatures on the match ball at the end of the Round 21, 2006 game. The Carlton Blues wanted to present Lance Whitnall with the sherrin used in the match as a trophy for the milestone. When they managed to retrieve a match ball from the umpires room after the game, they got an unwelcome surprise. No sanctions were set down by the AFL for the three umpires. [3]
