Chris Gilbreath, (aka atxbassplayer) is a professional bass guitarist, from Grand Prairie, Texas, United States.

Graduated Grand Prairie High School in 1985, joined cover rock band Screaming Mimi, then left to join original hard rock outfit Bone Circus with John Young and drummer Webbster.

Bone Circus was a Dallas-area club staple in the late-80's and early-90's and helped establish all-original live rock in the Deep Ellum club scene. They were managed by Mad Max Hammer, drive-time DJ for Z-ROCK, a nationwide satellite rock radio station, and they were among the first rock bands to play their own material in Deep Ellum clubs instead of covers.

Bone Circus played shows with various L.A. hair bands from the 80's that toured the Dallas, TX club circuit, like Circus Of Power, Faster Pussycat, Manowar and others. Bone Circus also played several live broadcast shows on the satellite radio station, Z-ROCK.

Formed Murder One with singer Ray Thomson of Bad Candy and Webbster of Bone Circus, and the band scored two Dallas-area radio singles. The band played locally and regionally for three years with a consistent lineup before personnel problems ended the association.

After dissolution of Murder One, joined Johnny "Bicks at Six" Richards in Cactus Jaw with Shaun Matthews and Lance Harvill. Cactus Jaw performed several high-profile gigs, one of them being the KNON Benefit at the Tattoo Bar in Ft. Worth, owned by Dimebag Darrell. Gilbreath also performed with Pantera as Rex Brown's stand-in for the benefit show.

After the demise of Cactus Jaw, he joined Four On The Floor with Johnny Bone and Johnny Richards. Left Four On The Floor to join Dallas-based grunge outfit Rehab, and later played in the final incarnation of Archie Bunker with Henry Vasquez.

Relocated from the D/FW area to Austin, TX where he spent three years working for the legendary Bill Ham and Lone Wolf Management as bass player/bandleader for a solo country singer. He now plays with Johnny Solinger from Skid Row.
