Chris Fry is the lead guitar player in Welsh progressive rock band Magenta. He plays PRS Guitars.
He is also a highly skilled classical acoustic guitar player and mandolin, and is currently working on a solo album which will feature his interpretations of Classical and Spanish pieces.
When not playing in Magenta, he hosts various “guitar nights” around the South Wales Area as well as visiting schools and teaching young talanted musicians like Jordan Bool, Matthew Westcott and Alex Reed. He is also a member of various low-key acoustic guitar duos that play small gigs around Wales.
He cites Jeff Beck, Frank Zappa, Heitor Villa-Lobos and Led Zeppelin as his favourite artists [1] and says that Jimi Hendrix was the first person that influenced him to pick up guitar[2].
