Chris Cole (politician)

Chris Cole is a United States Libertarian Party activist and was the party's candidate for Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina in the 2004 general elections, earning 2% of the popular statewide vote, and more votes than any other Libertarian candidate on the ballot.

In 1996, Cole became the first openly gay candidate for the North Carolina General Assembly when he ran unsuccessfully as a Libertarian candidate against Speaker Jim Black. A resident of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cole has also run unsuccessfully for the Charlotte city council.
