Chris Carlin

Chris Carlin (born September 16, 1972 in Morristown, New Jersey) is an on-air personality for WFAN 660, an AM radio station in New York City. He got his start as a producer of the Mike and the Mad Dog radio program. In March of 2001, he was given his first radio programs. In 2004, he was given his first regularly-scheduled program, during the overnight shift. In 2005, he became the sports reporter for the syndicated Imus in the Morning radio program. He has remained on WFAN's various morning shows since Imus in the Morning was canceled, and continued on the permanent replacement show, Boomer & Carton. Since September 10, 2007, he has also hosted weekdays from 5:00 to 6:00 a.m., preceding the Boomer & Carton show.

Carlin is nicknamed "the Continent" due to his girth. He grew up in Chatham Township, New Jersey^[1]. Carlin is a fan of the Texas Rangers. After graduating Oratory Preparatory School in Summit, New Jersey, he went on to major in English in college, graduating from Hobart College in 1995. He started his broadcasting career at WEOS FM in Geneva, broadcasting sports of his alma mater, Hobart & William Smith Colleges, including Football, Basketball, and Lacrosse and Minor League Baseball. He was the station's sports director and also hosted a sports talk show.

He formerly broadcast Minor League Baseball for the Geneva (1993) & Williamsport (1994-95) Cubs – currently known as the Williamsport Crosscutters. He also called college football games for Bucknell University. He is currently the radio play-by-play voice of Rutgers University football, and has called preseason games for the New York Giants the last three seasons in addition to hosting the team's radio pregame and postgame shows. Carlin also worked on broadcasts of Men's Lacrosse for the NCAA. Carlin also served as play-by-play for a few games in 2007 of NFL Europa on the NFL Network. Carlin has appeared several times on ESPN2, as well as CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, CSTV and the YES Network.

Carlin currently cohosts (with Adam Schein) a daily topical sports show on SNY called Loudmouths. The show airs every Monday through Friday at 6PM. The format of the show has Carlin and Schein usually taking opposing positions on sports issues as they are introduced one after another much like the format used by ESPN's Pardon The Interruption.

He also co-hosts "Beer Money" on SNY along with Julie Alexandria, a sports trivia game show testing the knowledge of random contestants on the street. The show can be seen on SNY on Sundays at 7PM.

Carlin is married to Sheryl Spain of Prevention magazine.
