Chris Cappelli

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chris Cappelli is a guitarist for the American metalcore band It Dies Today and is one of the founder members of the band along with former vocalist Nicholas Brooks and bass player Steve Lemke. Chris' favorite band is Nine Inch Nails. He is also in a side project called "Cream Post" with former Buffalo Bill's runningback, Thurman Thomas.

At the age of 6, Chris starred in Captain Crunch commercials, but later aimed his acting career towards more serious roles, including "Buck" the annoying classmate on the hit 90's television series "Boy Meets World". This role only lasted one episode, but it later earned him the role as "McHale," a common extra on the show "Family Matters." In this role he had only a handful of lines and his character was tossed after just 6 episodes. At the age of 12, Chris decided to give up on acting and turn his attention towards music. He quickly learned to play the guitar and shortly after joined a "Police" cover band called "Sharp Waters." This lasted a short year after Chris realized that he wanted creative freedom. Later that year he formed an outfit that would be known as "Skyearth". This would become one of the most famous and inflential Salsa/Jazz/Reggae/Rock bands of the 90's and earned themselves 2 Grammy's in 1997. After countless conflicts within the band, including several rehab visits and steroid use, the band decided to call it quits in December 1998.

Starting in 1999, Chris joined the rapmetal jammasters "Blunt," ("as in straight forward, not like smoking a blunt" - guitarist Josh Notaro) who quickly blew up in the western, ny scene and earned an opening slot for national act, "Tonic". In 2000 Chris along with members of "Blunt" formed the ultra hard hitting metalcore masterpiece "Bullet vs. Eye." BVE lasted one year. Chris and singer Nick brooks would go on to form "It Dies Today."
